This first of our blog posts will be less about us, and more about welcoming all of you back to UVA, or to UVA for the first time, and telling you a little bit about Iris Magazine.
Iris is… whatever you all want it to be. We want it to be all about you, students, alumni, and professors in the UVA community. We want to celebrate your achievements, and use our collective experiences to empower each other and the UVA community at large. We want to know your stories, and tell you ours, and in so doing build an atmosphere of affirmation and positivity at the University of Virginia, for
women and men alike.
We understand that you are all, especially the first-years, being inundated with request to join clubs, subscribe to things, go to talks, give blood, donate money, learn how to backflip, etc, but we are hoping that many of you will be interested in supporting Iris: by reading our articles, submitting articles of your own (more on this later!), and spreading information you find out through us to your friends across campus.
