The past few years have been big for reevaluating our culture’s definition of “true love.” With Valentine’s Day upon us, the cliché ordeal of a guy finding the perfect box of chocolates and roses for his girlfriend may not be obsolete (because who are we kidding, we love chocolate and flowers!), but it’s no longer this time of year’s standard, conventional idea. Disney’s newest movie Frozen captures the essence of redefining love and its connotations.

U.Va. reacts to the premiere of Sasheer Zamata on SNL

The debut of new SNL cast member Sasheer Zamata was long anticipated by the media and SNL fans, after Lorne Michaels faced critical attention for his predominantly white, male cast. The UVA alumna is the first African American female to grace the SNL stage in six years.

Cindy Bernard: Ruffin Distinguished Artist in Residence

The Ruffin Distinguished Artist in Residence is an annual position established by an endowment from the Peter B. and Adeline W. Ruffin Foundation. The first artist selected to hold this position is Cindy Bernard. Coming to the home of the cavaliers from Los Angeles, Cindy Bernard will be spending time working with fifth year students in the distinguished major program, as well as fifth year fellows.
